"Burmese democratic activists in India staged a demonstration"

Burmese democratic activists in India giving a 100% support to Daw 
Aung San Suu Kyi and NLD's recent expression, staged a demonstration 
at Janta Mantar, New Delhi on 26-11-95 two days before SLORC planned 
to resume the process of National Convention.

Among fifteen different groups an "organizing committee" organized the 
occation successfully. Not only pure Burmese activists but Burmese-Indians 
also participated. It started at 11 am and total turn-out was 80.

NCGUB, NLD/LA, ABSDF, FTUB, ABSL and other local groups issued the 
statements supportive os Daw Suu and denouncing Slorc Convention. 
Delhi police helped to submit a memorandum to Burmese Slorc embassy. 
But Burmese embassy ordered its employees not to accept any document 
from democratic opposition.

The Burmese opposition groups will conduct a prayers meeting on 
28-11-95 being a Tuesday, birth-day of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi at famous 
"Lotus temple" in New Delhi.
