    VANCOUVER, B.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 10, 1995--Westley  Technologies
Ltd. (TSE:WTY) Victor J.E. Jones, President, announces the signing of an
option agreement with East Asia Gold Corp., a  private company doing business
in the Union of Myanmar, formerly  known as Burma.  The option provides that
Westley may earn a joint  venture interest in exploration for gold and other
minerals on Block  No. 14, a 1,398 square kilometer region located 140
kilometers  northeast of Mandalay in Upper Myanmar, subject to final
agreements  being executed.  Myanmar has produced gold since antiquity and
Block  No. 14 hosts a number of small gold mining operations within the
 Thabeikkyn Gold Fields, which fall within the southern half of the  Block.
 A preliminary report by a Canadian geologist recommends work  to assess the
potential for shear-hosted gold mineralization and that mineralogical
composition of recovered vein material is consistent  with that of known
mesothermal deposits.   

   Under the agreement Westley is required to pay the exploration  signing
bonus of $125,000, make an exploration deposit of $50,000 and fund 60 percent
of the first $750,000 in work on the Block along with its partner over a two
year period.  Westley and its partner would  then hold equal working
interests in the advanced exploration targets identified subject to royalty
and carried interest of the Union of  Myanmar.
