Burmese girls and women in India

Tailoring training for Burmese girls and women

The Women Rights and Welfare Assocation of Burma(WRWAB) has been
working on encouraging and uplifting Burmese women in India in all
spheres of their lives, including educational standards and their
standards of living.
The opening ceremony of the tailoring training course for Burmese
women in India was held in New Delhi on the 11th May 1995 by WRWAB.
This is the first ever educational course conducted by WRWAB in
India. The WRWAB has planned to organize many more of such
educational courses for Burmese women in Indo-Burma border areas in
the near future.
Those women activists who join the course would return to Indo-Burma
border areas to be leders in both community services and the
pro-democracy movement in Burma. The WRWAB is now seeking for more
financial assistance from Non-Governmental Organizations in India and
abroad for its ongoing and future activities. For more
