Merit-Making for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on Her 50th Birthday
Dear Friends:
On behalf of the Burmese community in Washington DC, Virginia
and Maryland, we will be holding a merit-making ceremony and
birthday prayers for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on her 50th birthday.
All friends of the Burmese people are cordially invited to
attend the ceremony.

CANDLELIGHT VIGIL, MONTH-LONG CAMPAIGN TO FREE DAW AUNG SAN SUU KYI
The Burmese students and the Burmese community at large will be holding
a candle light vigil in front of the Burmese Embassy at 8:30pm on June
19 to mark Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's 50th birthday.
The students will also be launching a "Free Aung San Suu Kyi" a month-long
campaign between June 19 and July 20 in Washington, DC.
During the campaign, pamphlets highlighting plight of the Burmese people
will be distributed and calls will be made on the U.S. Congress to support
all moves designed to gain the freedom of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi as well as
to support the sanctions bill against the Burmese military junta.
